About Us
We started 817 Donations, because we believe that basic sanitation is a right, not a luxury. This Non Profit was formed by Cade Higgins and Matthew Bekish. The 817 represents our area code, a place that is so important to us because it has helped shape who we are today. 817 Donations was established with a vision to uplift and empower vulnerable communities in third-world African countries, our mission is simple yet transformative: to provide access to essential hygiene through repurposed hotel products. Every year, countless soaps and sanitation products are discarded by hotels worldwide. These gently-used or untouched items, often destined for landfills, hold the potential to improve lives. Recognizing this, 817 Donations bridges the gap. We collaborate with a network of hotels to collect, process, and distribute these products to individuals and communities in need.
